Introduction to Yoga course in Mirfield
Have you been thinking about trying yoga? My 6-week Introduction to Yoga course is designed to give you a friendly introduction to the basics, build your confidence and help you discover what yoga can actually feel like when you’re not worrying about whether you’re doing it “right”.
Over the six weeks we’ll explore:
- yoga poses and the foundations of a practice
- breathing and relaxation techniques
- strength, mobility and balance
- how to adapt poses for your body
We’ll take things at a friendly, manageable pace, with plenty of guidance along the way. I love teaching this course, and the lovely thing is: people who have joined one of my beginners’ courses in the past have gone on to become regular students, continuing their yoga journey with me long after those first six weeks. You can read more about how I found yoga and why I love teaching this course here.
Starts Monday 21 September.
Yoga Classes in Birstall and Mirfield
I started yoga during a stressful time in my corporate career, when I was dealing with back pain, tension and feeling constantly overwhelmed. What began as a way to stretch and move soon became something much more helping me feel calmer, stronger and more connected to myself.
That’s what I now share through my classes.
With many years of teaching experience across a variety of styles, I offer a gentle, supportive approach that focuses on presence over perfection. My classes are an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with yourself – the focus is always on awareness, self-kindness and listening inward.
These classes are perfect if you:
- feel stiff, tense or spend a lot of time sitting
- feel stressed or find it hard to switch off
- want to build strength in a gentle, supportive way
- feel nervous about joining a class
- prefer small, friendly groups rather than busy gyms
You don’t need to be flexible or experienced – just come as you are. See my yoga class timetable here.
Reiki
Reiki is a calming, restorative treatment designed to help you slow down, release tension and support your body’s natural ability to heal. In a world where we’re often busy, overstimulated and constantly “on”, Reiki offers you the chance to lie down, switch off and relax.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on (or hands-near) treatment that works with your energy to support balance and relaxation. During a session, you’ll remain fully clothed, lying comfortably while I place my hands lightly on or just above the body.
Many people experience a deep sense of calm, warmth or stillness, while others simply feel relaxed and rested. There’s no right or wrong way to experience Reiki – each session is unique.
How Reiki can help
Reiki is often used to support:
- stress and overwhelm
- anxiety or feeling “on edge”
- fatigue or low energy
- tension held in the body
- difficulty switching off or relaxing
If you feel drawn to take some time for yourself, you’re very welcome to book a session by emailing me.
