Booking open! A cosy day to pause, reflect and step into the new year. Join me at Eastthorpe Hall on Saturday 23 January for a nourishing day of yoga, journaling, good food, gentle intention-setting and a winter ramble together. The Autumn Yoga & Ramble Retreat sold out, so be sure to book your space on this special day!
The start of a new year can bring with it a lot of pressure to set goals, make plans or become a “new and improved” version of ourselves. This retreat day is about something a little different. It’s a chance to slow down, take a breath and spend some time thinking about what you’d like more of in the year ahead – without the pressure of resolutions or having all the answers.
Your day will include…
Yoga to begin
We’ll begin the day with a gentle and grounding yoga practice to help you settle in and arrive fully in the moment. We’ll move through a slow, mindful practice designed to warm the body, release some of the tension we can carry into the new year and create a little more space to breathe.
There’ll be plenty of encouragement to move at your own pace, with the practice suitable for all levels. All yoga equipment will be provided.
Time to reflect and journal
We’ll then take some time to pause and reflect on the year that has passed, before gently turning our attention towards the year ahead. Through some simple journaling prompts, we’ll explore what we’d like to leave behind, carry forward and make space for in the months to come. No pressure to have big goals or grand plans – this is simply a chance to listen to yourself and consider what feels meaningful to you right now.
You don’t need to be a regular journaler, either. I’ll guide you through everything, and there’s no right or wrong way to do it.
A delicious lunch
After our morning together, we’ll enjoy a relaxed vegetarian lunch at Eastthorpe Hall. It’s a chance to put the journaling aside, eat something delicious and enjoy some good conversation with the rest of the group.
A winter ramble
After lunch, we’ll head outside for a short winter walk together. There’s something lovely about getting out into nature at this time of year – the crisp air, bare trees, the (hopefully blue) winter skies and a little space to clear your head. We’ll walk together at a comfortable pace, with plenty of time for chatting (although no pressure if you prefer your own company), taking in our surroundings and enjoying the simple pleasure of being outside.
Create a vision board
Then we’ll turn some of those thoughts and intentions into something creative with our own vision boards. Using images, words and little snippets that resonate with you, you’ll create a visual reminder of what you’d like to invite into your year. All materials will be provided.
This retreat is an invitation to begin the year slowly and intentionally. A day for you to move, breathe, eat, walk, write and spend time with a lovely group of people – leaving with a little more clarity about what you want to make space for in the year ahead.
