Have you seen that I’m hosting a weekend yoga retreat later this year? Are you thinking about joining but still have a few questions? Here are the answers to some of the FAQs I’ve had about the retreat to help you make up your mind.
Where is the retreat?
I love visiting Christmas markets and I try and go somewhere new every year to soak up the twinkly-lights and take a short break before the Christmas-madness starts. When I was planning my first retreat I wanted to go somewhere magical, somewhere that I was confident my guests would love. When I visited Bruges, I absolutely adored it so I can’t wait to go back and host this retreat there! Imagine having a mulled wine whilst wandering through the cobbled streets of the old town, taking time for you, and getting yourself feeling festive.
What will we be doing on the retreat?
Practising, relaxing and adventuring! There will be yoga practices on Friday evening, Saturday morning and evening, and Sunday morning. All the yoga classes are optional, it’s up to you how much you do – it’s your retreat! You will have also free-time on Saturday to rest and relax at the accommodation or head out and soak up the magic of Bruges.
What is special about a yoga retreat?
Similar to a holiday, it’s a chance for you to take some time for yourself away from the everyday. But a yoga retreat also offers something else a little bit special – a chance to explore and develop your yoga practice away from home! Away from the shopping lists, the to-do lists, the messages asking if you can pick something up on the way home, all the little tasks. You are practising somewhere where all you have to think about is your practice. I’ve experienced some of my most powerful yoga classes on retreat because I had time, space and energy, to focus on it.
Do I need to book my own travel?
You do need to book your own travel but there are lots of options and I’m more than happy to chat to you about it. I’ll share the address of where we are staying closer to the time but it’s only a 10-minute drive from the Central station.
What time do I need to arrive?
The retreat is Friday 29 November to Sunday 1 December. We will have our first yoga practice on Friday evening, but you can arrive any time on the Friday, just let me know when to expect you! You can drop your bags at the accommodation and then spend some time exploring Bruges if you wish.
Are meals included?
All meals will be provided except for lunch on Saturday. We will be enjoying delicious and nutritious veggie pre-yoga snacks, breakfast, and evening meals. I ask that you let me know about any dietary requirements before the retreat.
Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?
No, I will provide mats. Unless you prefer to use your own, in which case you’re more than welcome to bring one.
